Our past Projects

Projects & Partnerships That We Cherish

Search Years constantly explores and initiates art intervention projects at Workplaces and Communities exploring an arts-integrated approach to organisational & social development. Such integrations into workplaces and communities lead not just to aesthetic  & congenial work environments but also to tangible, qualitative output. This art integration happens through the carefully planned calendar of events and touch-points viz., installations at vantage locations, festival decorations, value walls, rotating exhibitions, performances on special occasions, training & due diligence modules using theatre, dance and music etc.

BHOOMIGANDHA

Working with children, who have never made three-dimensional artwork, we find it helpful to have them start with a simple sculpture that can be formed in their hands without setting the clay on the table as they work. Using a comfortably sized lump of soft clay, they are encouraged to keep turning it in their hands so they can see it from every direction as they work. Younger children will generally need to make sculpture by the “synthetic” method of sticking lots of pieces together like bodies, legs, tail and head. Three-dimensional quality comes naturally for all children.

Kala Sakshar

An introductory workshop of art forms, one can choose from a bouquet of offerings. School curriculums, workplace routines and community environs can at times get monotonous and a new engaging art activity can bring that zing and may lead to lifetime of fulfilling experience. Search Years, in partnership with RMSA & Department of School Education had taken KalaSakshar program to around 1500 schools of 9 districts in the state of Haryana in the years 2011 – 1013. The program not only introduced 3 art forms namely, Hindustani classical Music (vocal), Drama and Clay Sculpture to close to 50000 students, but simultaneously conducted a survey to measure student interest in various subjects of Arts.

Pinata

Instilling values of empathy and social equity in their children is every parent’s yearning… Search Years’ Pinata (Birthday with a Difference) offers a unique opportunity to help nurture your child’s empathy for children like herself who come from under-served backgrounds. It helps bridge your child’s understanding of those less fortunate by caring and sharing her/his most joyous day of the year-  ‘Birthday’! With a difference though, by taking all the fun to the courtyard of the under-served children, making her day special for them too…‘Pinata, A Birthday with a Difference’

Natak Takatak

Drama, Music and Dance have been shown to have many benefits in educational spheres. It is an outlet for self-expression and communication, leads to emotional maturation. Fluency in speech, self-knowledge, self-respect and self-confidence are cited among the personal attributes that improve through drama and involvement in creative activities. Creative educational techniques spur individuals to higher level thinking and functioning as they can see the world for what it might be, rather than being limited to the concrete reality of what it is.

Our centre

Kalasthali

Education of a child embodies so much more than basic literacy and academics. It is also about the ‘holistic’ development of a child; on a social, cultural and moral level too. To achieve their potential as human beings and citizens of the world and recognize the impact and power they have to be change makers. The Kalasthali Centre brings a physical reality to this and education through creative mediums embodies this principle. Not only is this a right of every child, but studies have shown that creative mediums are a ‘natural learning resource’ that can impact on the communication and learning of a child. Creativity is an essential element of life- as a tool for self-discovery, confidence building, learning and enabling full development. In addition, the Kalasthali Centre brings intervention in capacity building, sports and turns into a safe space for children to explore, create and learn – a complete non-formal education centre.
