Kala Shaakshar
An introductory workshop on art forms and art sensitisation program fused in School curriculums of government schools of Delhi NCR in partnership with RMSA & Department of School Education. During the years 2011 – 2013 Kala Sakshar program touched around 1500 schools of 9 districts in the state of Haryana and to close to 50000 students. Apart from successfully running the program, the impact assessment was done simultaneously by conducting surveys to measure student interest in various subjects of Arts.
The program later led to the activation of 48 art centres in all 21 districts of Haryana and a review of the art curriculum of the State SCERT.
The objectives of the School project were:
- To Introduce and familiarise children with the basic definitions of the form, tools and mediums and benefits (both external and intrinsic) of engaging with them.
- Create an environment such that children engage and experience the art form hands-on.
- Identify some children in the group who have natural talent or have keen and visible interest in the art form for future workshops.
